Kaffeefilter töpfern

1 kg of clay

a rolling pin

a spatula

a pottery wheel (not absolutely necessary)

a bit of water

a sponge

a toothpick

a bowl or something round for the diameter of the Bottom

a knife (or just something to cut with)

ungefähr 1,5 kg Ton

ein Schaschlikspieß (oder Zahnstocher)

eine große Schale /Zirkel (für den Durchmesser des Bodens)

ein Nudelholz

ein Pfannenwender

eine Ränderscheibe (nicht unbedingt nötig)

etwas Wasser

einen Schwamm

ein Messer (irgendwas zum Schneiden)

Anleitung:

1. Ton kneten und ausrollen (ca 2cm dick)

2. Boden des Filters ausscheiden (als Vorlage eine Schüssel nehmen oder mit einem Zirkel vorher auf Papier malen)
ca. 14cm Durchmesser

3. Kreis beiseite legen und den restlichen Ton erneut kneten und ausrollen.

4. Den Filter auf den Ton legen und drum herum schneiden (direkt an der Filtergrenze schneiden, nicht so wie im Video!!)

5. Das ganze noch einmal wiederholen, sodass zwei Filter Hälften entstehen!

6. Die Kanten der Hälften anrauen und überlappen lassen.

7. Mit den Nudelholz festdrücken und glatt streichen.

8. Jetzt aufstellen und die anderen Seiten ebenfalls verbinden sodass ein Kegel entsteht.

9. Den Boden auf die Ränderscheibe legen und die Kanten glattstreichen ggf. etwas abscheiden.

10. Den Kegel auf den Boden stellen, die Mitte markieren und auf dem Boden anrauen.

11. Den Kegelboden anrauen und beides miteinander verbinden.

12. Kleine Schlangen formen und damit die Verbindeungskante überdecken.

13. Jetzt den Kegel etwas zusammendrücken sodass die Form sich an das Papierfilter anpasst.

14. Das ganze umdrehen und wieder eine Schlange formen.
Daraus einen Ring formen und auf den Boden des Filters legen. Den Boden anrauen und mit dem Ring verbinden.

15. Jetzt mit den Schaschlikspießen zwei Erbsengroße Löcher in die Mitte des Bodens stechen (daraus tropft dann der Kaffee)

optionale Schritte:

16. Erneut eine Schlange formen und damit an einer Seite einen Henkel befestigen

17. Die Innenwände des Filters anrauen (damit kann der Papierfilter später besser haften)

Englisch Version:

1. wedge your clay
2. roll it out, evenly, and flat
3. cut out your circle (bottom piece)
4. leave a bit of space! (You can always take clay away but not add more)
5. Now wedge your clay again, roll it out and cut out the walls of the Coffeefilter  (do that 2 times)
6. connect the walls of the filter pieces. Roll the rolling pin over both ends and press them together
7. Do that with both sides, now you have a cone (top piece)
8. lay the bottom of your dripper onto the pottery wheel and define the shape
9. scratch the outer ring of the bottom and connect the cone and the bottom part (don’t forget the water)
10. define the shape of your dripper, with your fingers. Roll out some coils and connect the top and the bottom parts with those.
11. turn the whole thing upside down and roll out another coil
12. connect the coil to the middle of the bottom (this is going to be the rim, which the dripper is standing onto)
13. now with the toothpick push little holes into the bottom (where the coffee will drip through)
14. the Coffeedripper is now finished, you could add a handle (roll out another coil) and scratch the inner part of the cone
15. now as a last touch flatten everything with your finger and water!
16. Et Voila the coffeedripper is now really finished and ready to dry and then get fired!
